The Ocean

As I view this serene body of liquid
I had realized it isn't as vapid
There's actually life inside the so-called mirror of peace
Where wonders never cease

The fish greet you with good morning
The clams and oysters open their mouths to sing
The seaweeds dancing with the waves
The shrimps go out of their caves

The wonders don't stop there
There is still the abyssal layer
Here is what you see in that dark, murky, spooky city
But I can't say they all look so pretty

A three-eyed fish gives you a wink
You just wonder how many times each eye could blink
An anglerfish that illuminates the city with its power supply
But its light is not what the animals will rely

You gasp for air
The oxygen supply is running out, you wouldn't stay down there
You swim back up the surface
Lucky no animal is up for a chase

Your head pops out of the fierce waters
Must've been cursed by Triton's daughters
You swim back to shore
If you had oxygen, I could have told you tales galore

As you get up on the land
Your feet sink in the sand
You realize you have survived this risky course
I hope you aren't filled with remorse

As you walk towards the sand bank
You remembered you left your oxygen tank
Now you shall look at it as a treasure
Of what you had seen beneath the innocent surface of the water
